Slight annoyance w/ Debian swirl.

I really like the debian swirl logo. But I have a problem with it. Before that I had an idea. Without this idea there would be no problem. Idea = Debian swirl in the middle of a white background. The swirl = black. Then invert the colors of half of the image… creating a debian yinyang type effect. BUT I CAN’T CREATE IT!!!

Hello again.

I just put together the mobile for my son’s crib. It wasn’t really a hard task but it could have been easier. For instance, I had to supply my own screwdriver. I know that is pretty standard, but still. That is not the type of service that I am used to. Furthermore, it is not the type of service that the customers of my job expect. I work at Zappos. For those of you that don’t know, we sell shoes and clothes and electronics and stuff. Anyway, at Zappos we have 10 core values that create our philophy and business policy. The most important is core value #1. Core Vaule 1: Deliver Wow. It is that simple. Delivering WOW is going out of the way to serve your customers. We do this in a few ways. We have free shipping both ways. We have a 365 day return policy. 24 hour customer support, and most of our shipments make it to their destination in under 3 days. Awesome, right? After working at Zappos for a few months I feel as if every business should be run this way. If I ran the company that produced the mobile, we would include a screwdriver. Probably cheap and small, but still, it would get the job done. Delivering WOW is about making the customer do as little as possible to reach the end result.

So. I am not sure when i will get the chance to, but I will eventually phase out Zeus and bring in Rat. Rat is my SuSe virtual and Zeus is my Debian.

Just had a second thought. . I don’t really want to use SuSe. However, my Debian install seems to be hosed. I will eventually reinstall. Hrm. hopefully soon…

I don’t know how I manage to kill my apache server so often. It just doesn’t make sense. Oh well. I know this sounds insane, But I’m going to kill Zeus for a while. I want to try my hand at Rat. gotta find out how to use SuSe.

I had some chai today. Whittle gave me some. It was quite tasty. Hrm. Which way is the enemies gate? Thats right. Down. I feel really tired, which sucks bad. I don’t want to feel tired… but I do. Urgz. lame. I wonder how my realms accounts are doing. I wish I could pick something up and stick with it.

Hey. I saw a good article on 10 things the other day. The thing I liked most was the suggestion of using Firestarter as a front end to iptables. It works quite nicely. Try it out.
